About the Role

To The Rescue is hiring a Medical Specialist - Direct Care to support individuals with developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and mental health needs in their home and community.

In this role, you’ll provide hands-on support with daily living activities, medication administration, and community engagement. You’ll play a key role in helping individuals build independence, stay safe, and achieve personal goals.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Care & Daily Support

  • Provide hands-on support with personal care, meal preparation, and daily routines

  • Assist individuals in achieving goals related to independence, socialization, and daily living

  • Support community involvement through outings, activities, and engagement

Health, Safety & Medication

  • Administer medications according to care plans and company policies

  • Monitor individuals’ health, safety, and well-being

  • Respond appropriately in crisis or high-pressure situations

Documentation & Team Collaboration

  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time

  • Follow individualized care plans and ensure goals are being met

  • Communicate with team members and participate in trainings and meetings



What We’re Looking For

  • Compassionate and patient individuals who enjoy helping others

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to stay calm and respond effectively in different situations

  • Dependable and able to follow through on responsibilities

  • Comfortable supporting individuals with a variety of needs

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility for company vehicle insurance 



Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • CNA or prior caregiving experience preferred

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in healthcare is a plus



Schedule & Work Environment

  • Flexible scheduling with day, evening, and overnight shifts available

  • Full-time and part-time opportunities

  • Work takes place in residential homes and community settings
