Job Description

As a Security Officer - Full Time - Afternoons in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer in a manufacturing and industrial location, you will manage access control at key entry points, greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, and maintain clear logs and reports. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and requests with calm, professional communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Control entry and exit points by verifying identification, issuing temporary badges as required, and directing traffic to approved areas while helping to deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems, and document security-related activity per post orders and reporting requirements.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, and the perimeter when assigned, reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
