Job Description

As a Security Officer - Full Time - Mornings in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, screen visitors and deliveries, and maintain accurate access logs. You will conduct routine patrols and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents while providing clear communication and customer service to employees, contractors, and guests. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to guests, vendors, and employees by following site-specific access control procedures, identification checks, visitor processing, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Control entry and exit at designated access points by verifying credentials, issuing temporary badges as directed, and maintaining accurate visitor and contractor logs.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems and report irregular activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns according to post orders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site leadership and/or emergency services as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, docks, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and other security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
