At Physicians' Clinic of Iowa, we are focused on delivering quality patient care. We are seeking a full-time Access Center Representative. This position provides professional, courteous, and efficient telephone service while ensuring callers are connected to the appropriate department, provider, or resource.

Primary duties for this position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Greet callers, determine the purpose of their call, and accurately direct or transfer calls to the appropriate department, provider, or staff member. 
  • Provide general information regarding departments, location, hours of operation, and other frequently requested information. 
  • Schedule appointments for department and providers.
  • Provided information to referring providers and patients.
  • Respond to patient inquiries received via the patient portal and enter and update patient information as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect patient information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies. 
  • Remain knowledgeable of organizational departments, services, providers, and frequently requested information. 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a medical office and knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.
  • Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.
  • Strong Commitment to patient care and teamwork.
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
