Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Environmental Services Tech, you will perform a variety of essential cleaning tasks necessary to maintain and improve the appearance and sanitary condition of all campuses.Every day you will meticulously execute assigned cleaning protocols, utilizing appropriate equipment and chemicals to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and infection control. You will actively participate in quality control checks, identifying areas for improvement and helping to uphold our high standards. Additionally, you will engage in staff development initiatives, learning new techniques and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.To be successful in this role, you will consistently demonstrate a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining a pristine and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff across all campuses.
  • Cleans:Hard floor by dusting, damp mopping, sweeping, stripping and refinishing. Carpeted floors by vacuuming, spotting, shampooing and extracting. Doors, walls and ceilings and inside windows. Occupied and dismissal patient rooms and bathrooms by damp wiping, dusting furniture, fixtures, counters and shelves. Public areas such as restrooms, lobby areas and waiting rooms by dusting, damp wiping and vacuuming of fixtures, floors, counters, furniture and shelves. Offices by vacuuming, dusting and damp wiping examination rooms, utility rooms, medication rooms, labor/delivery rooms by washing, damp wiping, dusting and mopping. Carts, racks, storage sheds and equipment. Vents - diffuser removal/duct cleaning.
  • Infection Control/Environmental Care: Collects, transports and disposes of trash and hazardous waste. Collects, transports and stores soiled linen and infectious waste. Cleans occupied and dismissal isolation rooms following prescribed procedures. Empties and relines wastebaskets and trash containers.
  • Stocking/Supplies: Transports supplies, stocks supply room, advises supervisor of supply shortages to assist reordering. Weighs, counts, folds and distributes linen and surgery linen as directed or required.
  • Operational Support: Replaces soiled window drapes and cubicle curtains in patient rooms. Washes or replaces shower curtains in bathrooms. Makes beds following prescribed procedures. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Arranges classrooms, conference rooms and other areas to accomodate workshops, seminars, and scheduled meetings by moving tables, chairs and fixtures between and within rooms. Moves furniture and fixtures throughout the hospital and to and from storage areas as needed. Sewer odors first response.
