The Clinical Practice Coordinator is an active member of the clinical team to align, support and ensure compliance of Children's Medical Group (CMG) standardized clinical practices and seamless patient care. Reports to the Clinic Leadership and works in collaboration to provide the best and safest care for patients and families. Provides for the health educational needs of families, manages patient care, demonstrates professional/clinical competency, and practices within the Code of Ethics for nurses and the Standards of Nursing Practice. Acts within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse (RN).  Is integral in supporting the Children's Wisconsin Patient Experience Promise. This role is about 70% nursing and 20% CPC responsibilities

Work Schedule: 36 hours per week / Work four 9 hour days

Essential Functions

  • Regularly performs Clinic RN duties, within the scope of professional practice and/or training, within assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Maintains patient care competencies as determined by position scope of practice for clinical staff. Provides in-service education for existing/ new employees as assigned; assists in preparation/review of standard guidelines with Clinical Practice Team.

  • Oversees the proper functioning of medical equipment; ensures quality control and evaluates and advises on malfunctions.

  • Collaborates with the clinic leadership and Clinical Practice Team on all quality initiatives, responsible for implementation as well as sustainability of each initiative. Serves as mentor and resource for clinical staff and physicians related to Epic applications and clinical improvement processes.

  • Coordinates orientation process to include; training, on-boarding, evaluation and feedback of new clinical staff in collaboration with clinic leadership

  • Collaborates with clinic leadership to oversee adequate medical supply, vaccine inventory and staff schedules.

Direct Patient Care Job:
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required ( Consideration will be given to applicants currently enrolled in a baccalaureate program in nursing or a BSN completion program with an anticipated graduation date within a time frame to be agreed upon, not to exceed 4 years from hire date)

  • 2+ years RN experience Required

  • 1+ years of related experience in a leadership role Preferred
