Stamping Press Setup Technician

4-Day Workweek | Monday–Thursday | 1st & 2nd Shift

ATACO Steel Products is seeking an experienced Stamping Press Setup Technician to join our team in Cedarburg, WI. This position is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and preparing mechanical and hydraulic stamping presses to produce quality parts according to specifications.

This is an experienced-level position. Candidates without press setup experience are encouraged to apply for our Press Operator openings.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and adjust mechanical and hydraulic stamping presses
  • Locate dies and set them in presses using a forklift or electric die cart
  • Determine proper pin lengths and complete die setups
  • Call up existing press programs and create programs when needed
  • Set feed lengths, pilots, and overrides
  • Load, secure, and thread coil material into presses
  • Adjust rollers and align material to the die
  • Set and properly use die protection and sensors
  • Use knockouts and airbags when required
  • Set up part and scrap conveyors
  • Perform first-piece inspections and verify part quality
  • Make press adjustments as needed to produce quality parts
  • Follow routings, blueprints, and job instructions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous stamping press setup experience required
  • Experience with mechanical and/or hydraulic presses
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints
  • Ability to inspect parts and make adjustments to maintain quality
  • Ability to become forklift certified

Available Shifts

1st Shift

  • Monday–Thursday, 4:00 AM–2:00 PM
    OR
  • Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • Occasional Friday overtime, can mandatory up to 2 Fridays a month

2nd Shift

  • Monday–Thursday, 2:00 PM–12:00 AM
  • Occasional Friday overtime, can mandatory up to 2 Fridays a month
