Job Description

Summary
A school-based educational setting in New York is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for 2026-2027 School Year to provide direct therapeutic services to students with disabilities. The organization supports student independence and functional development through individualized, goal-driven intervention. This part-time role focuses on developing functional living skills, tracking progress, and collaborating with families and school staff to ensure meaningful student outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in individual and small-group settings.
  • Develop functional living skill goals aligned with student needs and educational plans.
  • Conduct screenings, observations, and assessments to identify areas requiring intervention.
  • Plan, implement, and adjust treatment plans based on ongoing evaluation and data.
  • Monitor and document student progress to determine effectiveness of services.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in compliance with legal and school requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student progress.
  • Collaborate with instructional staff and administration to support coordinated student services.
  • Adhere to New York State regulations, school policies, and professional standards.

What You’ll Need

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Valid New York State Occupational Therapist license and registration.
  • Minimum of one year of occupational therapy experience (school-based preferred).
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Availability to work 20–30 hours per week.
