Company Description:

Plastic Molding Technology (PMT) manufactures high precision plastic parts for automotive, aerospace, telecommunications, renewable energy, and industrial customers. The primary manufacturing processes are injection molding and thermoforming. PMT has ~75 injection molding presses at its two primary manufacturing locations in El Paso, TX and Centennial, CO (a suburb of Denver).

What you’ll do:

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of injection molds and tooling
  • Responsible for the quality of product for your assigned shift
  • Inspect in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
  • Perform dimensional checks using sophisticated measurement devices such as digital height gauge, CMM, drop gauge, etc. 
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarize re-work and waste, and input data into quality database.
  • Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance
  • Prepare and submit reports to the quality manager
  • Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive action for process, product, internal, and external customer concerns
  • Other duties as assigned

What we’re looking for:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational/trade school in Tool & Die, Machining, or Mold Making preferred
  • Proven experience as a quality control inspector or relevant role
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced measurement equipment
  • Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented
  • Good written, and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Analytical/problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to take on a leadership role 
  • Works well under pressure
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams
  • Possess a sense of urgency while performing tasks accurately
  • Dependable, self-motivated, strong work ethic, and innovative
