Keesen Landscape Management is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Small Engine and Light Truck Mechanic to support landscaping operations.  This role is responsible for maintaining the fleet of vehicles, trailers, and engine operated landscaping equipment. The ideal candidate takes pride in their equipment, communicates well with team members, clients, and leadership, and understands the demands of landscape and snow work.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing; completing preventive maintenance such as oil changes, sharpening blades, replacing belts & hoses, replacing filters, checking tire pressure, clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of equipment, etc.
  • Maintains equipment functional condition by listening to operator complaints
  • Maintains equipment appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting
  • Maintains equipment records by recording service and repairs
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Completes minor repairs as directed with little or no assistance
  • Adhere to quality and safety standards
  • Demonstrate competency in operating all equipment and tools needed to perform daily tasks
  • Communicate professionally with business partners (vendors, clients) and internal employees
  • Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License
  • Previous mechanic experience required
  • Welding/Metal fabrication
  • Ability to manage small staff of 1-2 direct reports based on season
  • Strong vendor relationships
  • Any mechanical certifications and service school pertaining directly to our fleet
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Experience looking up and ordering parts and materials
  • Ability to work flexible hours, weekends (to include overtime), and on-call during snow events
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs as required by job duties
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions
  • Organizational experience is a must for administrative duties
  • High detail expected regarding safety
  • Bilingual (desired)

  

Work schedule is based on a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday during normal hours of operation. Overtime may be required. Schedule can be affected by season or emergencies as well.
