Work Location
Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor, WA (Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific / Marine Corps Security Force Battalion area of operations, Kitsap County, with occasional support to outlying areas such as Pierce or Yakima County).
Position Description
The Facility Support Personnel -Material Coordinator, performs the day-to-day facility management support tasks for up to seventy (70) facilities and magazines occupied or operated by SWFPAC/MCSFBN personnel, under the direction of the Facility Lead. The individual assists in generating and tracking facility and galley work orders, conducts recurring building, safety, and fire inspections, supports the key custodian program, tracks consumable item inventories, and assists with Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQ) room-assignment tracking. This role requires reliable, detail-oriented performance of recurring inspection, tracking, and reporting tasks in coordination with Government representatives, the Base Operations Services Contractor (BOSC), and other facility functional area personnel.
Essential Position Functions
- Assist the Facility Lead in generating, posting, and tracking facility and galley work orders submitted to the Base Operations Services Contractor (BOSC) and other designated agencies.
- Communicate and coordinate with MCSFBN Bangor, SWFPAC Facilities Department, MCSFBN Safety, and BOSC personnel to schedule and track facility trouble calls.
- Conduct monthly building, safety, fire, and fire extinguisher inspections for assigned MCSFBN occupied buildings and spaces; report discrepancies for work order generation.
- Check the operational status of washers and dryers in assigned MCSFBN spaces and report status to the Facility Lead for work order action as needed.
- Support the key custodian program: issue keys from the designated lock box, assist with monthly and quarterly key inventories, and report discrepancies.
- Assist in tracking BEQ room assignments, departures, and occupancy rates; support weekly BEQ inspections and record results.
- Assist in managing and issuing consumable items to the three MCSFBN Areas of Operation; monitor stock levels and flag items nearing reorder thresholds.
- Maintain accurate, current records to support required CDRL reports (e.g., Facility & Galley Work Order Tracking Report, Washer/Dryer Report, Facility Safety and Fire Inspection Report, Key Custody Program Report, Barracks Vacancy Report, Consumable Items Inventory Report).
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing duties in warehouse or light industrial areas.
- Possess sufficient computer skills to perform general data entry and work across common data systems used for facility and inventory tracking.
- Respond to emergent facility requests within the timeframe specified by the Government (generally within one hour).
- Current, or the ability to obtain, a Secret security clearance level.
- Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office Suite experience (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- High School Diploma or equivalent; prior facility, warehouse, supply, or maintenance support experience is desired but not required.
Competencies for the role
The Facility Support Personnel role requires attention to detail in inspection and inventory recordkeeping, reliability in completing recurring tasks on schedule, and the ability to follow established procedures for work order generation, key custody, and consumable tracking. This role also requires clear communication with the Facility Lead, Government representatives, and outside maintenance contractors, along with the flexibility to support multiple buildings and areas of operation across a large installation.
Physical Requirements for the role
This position requires the ability to walk extended distances across a large facility footprint to conduct inspections, climb stairs, and access mechanical, storage, and rooftop areas as needed. The role requires standing and walking for extended periods, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds (e.g., consumable supplies, keys, inspection equipment), and the ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment
The work environment includes regular movement throughout occupied buildings, barracks, galleys, and outdoor facility areas within the SWFPAC/MCSFBN area of operations, along with periodic administrative/data-entry work in an office setting. The role involves routine coordination with Government personnel, BOSC representatives, and maintenance contractors, and requires adherence to installation security, safety, and access control procedures.

Compensation
Commensurate with experience and qualifications, in accordance with the applicable Service Contract Act (SCA) Wage Determination for the Material Coordinator labor category.
