Description
The Norplex Shipping Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient movement of finished goods and materials. This role provides hands-on leadership to the shipping team, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met while maintaining strong alignment with production, inventory, and customer service.Â

Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily shipping and receiving operations, including scheduling, prioritization, and workflow coordinationÂ
- Ensure all outbound shipments are accurate, properly packaged, labeled, and shipped on timeÂ
- Coordinate with production, customer service, and logistics to meet delivery requirements and customer expectationsÂ
- Supervise and support shipping associates, including training, task assignment, and performance feedbackÂ
- Verify shipping documents including bills of lading, packing slips, and carrier paperworkÂ
- Maintain accurate inventory records for finished goods and shipping materialsÂ
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as neededÂ
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA requirements, and company proceduresÂ
- Monitor shipping KPIs such as on-time delivery, accuracy, and freight cost controlÂ
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors or delaysÂ
- Assist with cycle counts, audits, and inventory reconciliation activitiesÂ
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent requiredÂ
- 2–5 years of shipping, logistics, or warehouse experience (manufacturing environment preferred)Â
- 1–2 years of informal or formal leadership experience preferredÂ
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification requiredÂ
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferredÂ
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsÂ
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentÂ
- Strong communication and problem-solving skillsÂ

Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse or manufacturing shipping area and requires standing, lifting, and operating material handling equipment. Exposure to industrial environments, including noise and temperature variations, may occur.
