We're not a big-box store where customers wander around looking for help - we go to them. If you're the kind of person who lights up around people, thrives when you're busy, and genuinely loves helping someone nail their project, you'll fit right in here. This is a physical, fast-moving role where no two days are the same. You'll be outside, on your feet, engaging with customers from the moment they pull through the gate to the moment they drive away happy, and you'll be the one making sure every delivery load goes out right. What You'll Do Hustle out to greet customers and guide them to exactly what they need Help customers plan their projects and answer product questions (or find the person who can) Load lumber and materials into customer vehicles and verify against their invoice Inspect returns and create accurate return slips for cashiers Handle customer concerns with empathy; resolve what you can, escalate what you can't Unload deliveries and stock products in their correct yard locations Build accurate loads for deliveries based on customer orders, keeping customer preferences in mind Track which truck is scheduled for each delivery and build loads to fit that specific truck Organize loads with the construction process in mind, sequencing product so it comes off in the order it's needed on-site Band units securely using proper technique and double-check every load for accuracy before it goes out Mark staged loads clearly with order number and customer information Operate a forklift and fill propane tanks Keep the yard clean, organized, and safe; a tight yard is a great yard Stay current on monthly ads so you can point customers to deals Stay connected via radio and communicate proactively with the team Follow all safety procedures and speak up when you see room to improve Help bring new hires up to speed and attend monthly store meetings QualificationsWho You Are You're a people person, but not just in a "nice to meet you" kind of way. You seek out customers. You move with purpose. When someone looks lost or uncertain, you're already heading their way. You also think ahead. Building a load isn't just stacking product; it's picturing how that truck will be unloaded on a job site and making sure everything comes off in the right order. You take pride in doing the job right, you show up when you say you will, and you genuinely care whether the customer leaves happy. You don't need to know everything on day one, but you do need the drive to learn fast and the confidence to say "let me find out" without missing a beat.
