Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Centre hall, PA 16828Salary Range: $17.50 HourlyJob Shift: AnyHanover Foods Corporation - Centre Hall, PA, is currently seeking an experienced Utility/Maintenance person. This position will perform a variety of general labor and minor maintenance functions throughout the entire plant and will assist the Facility Safety Coordinator in completing safety-oriented tasks, program upkeep and training. This 2nd Shift position includes a $0.50 Shift Differential when working during the hours of 3pm - 11pm. Hanover Foods Corporation offers a competitive rate of pay and comprehensive benefits package such as medical, dental, prescription drug, and 401(k).   The duties listed below are representative of the types of responsibilities required for the role. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the organization: Empty all trash receptacles daily, as required. Operations of a forklift, electric pallet jack, scissor lift and skid steer. Responsible for general housekeeping in public areas of the plant. Distribute cleaning and sanitizing chemicals throughout the plant including filling or repairing all hand sanitizers. Keep daily records of all sanitizing chemicals used. Assist the Facility Safety Coordinator in performing the internal safety audit, safety training and related administrative upkeep of all safety programs. Be an active member in the facility’s safety committee and attend monthly safety committee meetings. Perform and documents daily, weekly and monthly; checks for the facility fire extinguishers, exit signs, emergency lights, eye wash stations, etc. Perform competent carpentry, masonry, electrical and plumbing skills necessary to maintain the general upkeep of the plant building structure. Always keep chemical room and storage areas clean and orderly. Triple rinse all used chemical totes or barrels, document and prepare for shipping to pick up. Report all chemical spills and losses to the Facility Safety Coordinator immediately. Work closely with the stock room attendant to acquire and maintain necessary items for plant building structure, sanitizing equipment and safety upkeep. Travel to vendor locations and acquire materials through proper channels and transport them to the plant. Keep work areas clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices. Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as: GMP’s, food safety, product quality, food security, etc. Perform various checks and paperwork throughout your shift ensuring accuracy and clearly legible handwriting. Trustworthiness in being able to handle money, credit accounts and/or credit cards in the acquisition of materials and fuel. Perform weekly checks, clean and maintain plant pool car and report any maintenance issues to Facility Safety Coordinator. Position requires the physical ability to lift up to 80 pounds. Adheres to all common safety practices and rules, including the wearing of proper PPE. Adheres to plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity. And performs other duties as assigned by manager. Job Qualifications & RequirementsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: 0-1 years’ experience in an industrial food industry. 0-1 years’ experience in general maintenance construction (carpentry, electrical, masonry and plumbing). 0-1 years’ experience in Industrial & Facility Safety (OSHA 10, OSHA 40 a plus). Requires the ability to safety operate a motor vehicle on public roadways and a valid driver license that legally allows them to drive in PA. Ability to read, write and understand the English language and have general skills to satisfactorily complete job requirements.  Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to work well with all types of people including fellow employees and management. Must pay attention to detail and be accurate and efficient in recordkeeping.
