Position Summary
Key Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of machining/manufacturing experience
- Machining certification or equivalent experience
- Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, setup sheets, and work instructions
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Basic computer and shop math skills
- Strong English reading and writing skills
- Experience with inspection and measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, optical comparators, plug gauges, ring gauges, etc.)
- Familiarity with AS9100, flight safety requirements, 5S, and continuous improvement practices
Core Responsibilities
- Set up and operate:
- CNC lathes
- CNC mills (up to 5-axis)
- CNC mill-turn machines
- CNC hobbers
- CNC cylindrical grinders
- Manual machining equipment (lathes, honing, thread grinding, etc.)
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents
- Meet daily production schedules and quality standards
- Perform preventive machine maintenance
- Record production data in ERP systems
- Participate in problem-solving and root cause corrective action (RCCA) activities
- Report production issues promptly
- Cross-train team members and support continuous improvement efforts
