Summary
Assist employees in the Kemper Offices and remote locations with technical support for laptops, desktops, virtual desktops, mobile devices, and applications. This includes, but it is not limited to researching complex problems, identifying requirements and specifications, installing software/hardware and testing systems and peripherals within established guidelines.
Responsibilities:Â
- Assist employees with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of computers, peripheral equipment, software, and audio/visual equipment.
- Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with computing equipment and software.
- Assist internal business units with evaluating, testing, and implementing standard configurations, as well as troubleshooting and supporting technical systems and software that support Kemper business processes.Â
- Perform hardware equipment relocation as assigned.
- Skilled in managing assigned projects collaboratively with team members to ensure timely completion while keeping leadership informed.
- Creating and publishing new documentation pertaining to previously undiscovered software/hardware issues in enterprise knowledge base.

Qualifications:Â
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with little direct supervision. Â
- Must be detail oriented.
- Two-year technical degree or associate’s degree in a computer science field, 1-3 years’ work experience in related field required OR 4 years similar work experience in an information technology field.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows OS, O365, MacOS, iOS, Android, TCP/IP based services (DHCP, DNS, HTTPS), networks (LAN/WAN, Wireless), and remote desktop tools.
- Preferred to have experience in one or more specialized areas of IT such as Microsoft Administration (MSA), Desktop Virtualization (VDI), Anti-Virus (AV), and Microsoft Azure, Intune, SCCM, Imaging technologies, and familiarity with ticketing systems.
- Ability to efficiently handle incidents and requests under pressure, ensuring timely resolution in accordance with current SLAs.
- Capable of maintaining productivity and focus despite frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
- Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb and twist up to 3 hours per day and sit for periods of up to 6 hours per day.Â
- Requires the ability to lift and carry small items (0-5 lbs.) up to 6 hours per day and larger items (up to 50 lbs.) up to 3 hours per day.Â
- Requires the ability to push and pull small items (0-10 lbs.) up to 6 hours per day and larger items (over 51 lbs.) up to 3 hours per day.Â
- Requires the ability to grasp and manipulate with the hands for up to 3 hours per day and use a keyboard for up to 6 hours per day.Â
- Some travel may be required.
- Includes other duties as assigned.Â
- This role works in the Kemper office.
The salary range for this position is $23.13 to $39.45. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is also eligible for our Kemper benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)Â
