Summary:

 

The Supply Chain Manager is a critical operational leader responsible for the end-to-end supply chain function at Spitz Inc, Cosm's center of excellence for dome and screen technology design, engineering, manufacturing, and installation. This role owns procurement, inventory management, vendor relationships, materials planning, and logistics — ensuring the right parts are available at the right time, at the right cost and quality to support our operations and project delivery commitments.

 

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who combines strategic sourcing expertise with strong operational execution. They thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven manufacturing environment, are data-driven, and bring a continuous improvement mindset that aligns with Cosm's growth trajectory. This role has meaningful long-term growth potential as the company scales.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Procurement & Sourcing:

  • Lead strategic and tactical purchasing across all material categories to support production and project schedules.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to achieve cost reduction targets, including annual purchase price variance (PPV) goals.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with vendors to optimize total cost of ownership.
  • Source materials for new products in collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Sales to meet spec and target margin.

Inventory & Materials Management:

  • Own inventory management across the organization — content, location, and quantities — minimizing carrying costs while preventing production risk.
  • Maintain accurate and current supply chain data within the ERP system to ensure correct stocking levels and system-driven replenishment.
  • Manage material requirements planning (MRP) to align component availability with production schedules.
  • Identify and implement improvements to inventory tracking, reporting, and storage to increase accuracy and efficiency.

Vendor Management & Quality:

  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships that enhance flexibility, responsiveness, and partnership.
  • Track and manage supplier performance against defined KPIs; conduct on-site audits and provide structured feedback.
  • Manage quality concerns with vendors — communicate issues clearly, drive root cause analysis, and ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
  • Develop and evolve quality processes and work instructions to reduce defects and supplier-related disruptions.

Logistics & Shipping/Receiving:

  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, shipping, and receiving to ensure on-time delivery to and from Spitz operations.
  • Coordinate with all internal departments to ensure accurate, efficient delivery and storage of materials.
  • Provide high-quality, proactive communication to internal stakeholders and vendors on delivery schedules, quality issues, and service levels.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing supply chain team with a culture of accountability and ownership.
  • Set clear expectations, provide coaching and development, and build team capability to support business scale.
  • Foster collaboration and strong cross-functional communication with Installation, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Sales.

Continuous Improvement & Safety:

  • Actively lead and participate in CI initiatives — kaizen events, 5S, weekly improvement meetings, and problem solving.
  • Identify and drive process improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and support operational scale.
  • Ensure the team adheres to all company Safety policies, maintains a clean and organized work area, and immediately addresses safety concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and OSHA standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment (purchasing, planning, sourcing).
  • 5+ years of team leadership experience with demonstrated ability to develop people and drive culture.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and supply chain management tools
  • Strong analytical and data skills — able to translate data into decisions and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Proven negotiation skills with a track record of delivering cost savings and supplier performance improvement.
  • Lean manufacturing experience with demonstrated application of CI tools (5S, kaizen, root cause analysis, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel as required for supplier visits, site reviews, and project support.

 

Preferred:

  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) or equivalent supply chain credential.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
  • Experience in a project-based or custom manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with international sourcing and trade compliance
