About the Role
Manage customer accounts and transportation operations by ensuring clients receive the best service at the most reasonable cost while maximizing margin and network efficiency. Responsible for the day-to-day coordination of transportation activities across truckload, intermodal, and other multimodal transportation solutions, including dispatching carriers, coordinating rail and drayage movements, tracking shipments, resolving exceptions, customer reporting, and invoicing.
The Logistics Coordinator will work closely with customers, carriers, rail providers, drayage partners, and internal teams to ensure shipments move efficiently from origin to destination. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate and monitor intermodal shipments from origin through final delivery, including rail and drayage.
- Dispatch and communicate with carriers, drayage providers, rail partners, terminals, and customers.
- Track shipments and proactively identify and resolve delays, exceptions, and service issues.
- Research transportation costs and identify cost-effective solutions across intermodal, truckload, and multimodal services.
- Maintain accurate shipment information, customer orders, tracking updates, documentation, and invoicing details.
- Communicate proactively with customers and internal teams regarding shipment status, delays, and changes.
- Partner with Business Development, Sales, and Accounting to support customer onboarding, billing, and operational needs.
- Monitor carrier and transportation partner performance and ensure compliance with MODE standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve service, efficiency, profitability, and reduce unnecessary accessorial charges.
- Build strong working relationships with customers, carriers, rail providers, and transportation partners.
What We’re Looking For
- 1-2 Years of Experience in logistics, transportation, intermodal, freight brokerage, or a related field.
- Understanding of intermodal transportation, including rail and drayage operations.
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with multiple partners.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly respond to transportation issues and service exceptions.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day.
- Ability to research transportation options, evaluate costs, and make sound operational decisions.
- Experience with transportation management systems, EDI, web tenders, or other transportation technology is a plus.
- Strong teamwork and a customer-focused mindset.
