                            Mold Maker II/ Lathe Programmer
                   Â
The Mold Maker II is responsible for advanced machining, mold maintenance, and repair. This role requires strong technical expertise in CNC and manual machining, as well as the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
- Program and operate CNC turning centers (GIBBS CAM preferred; training available)
- Perform first article inspections to ensure quality standards are met
- Operate CNC machines to complete parts accurately and efficiently
- Clean, deburr, and inspect finished parts
- Maintain material inventory for repeat production runs
- Organize and manage tooling inventory (inserts, drills, taps, etc.)
- Perform routine machine maintenance (oil, grease, coolant, cleaning)
Required Qualifications
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Outlook, Excel, file systems)
- Ability to read and interpret part drawings and assembly designs
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Experience using measuring and inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
- Ability to operate forklifts (stand-up and sit-down)
- Experience with overhead cranes and rigging (preferred)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision work
- Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching

Tools & Equipment
- Basic lathe tools
- Measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators)
- Inspection equipment (company provide a larger inspection equipment)
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in CNC turning (HAAS or live tooling preferred)
