Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) – Nursing Attendant
- 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit providing care for the following patients
- Post Interventional
- Electrophysiology pre- post procedures i.e. ablations, pacemakers
- Respiratory Failure
- High acuity patients with a strong focus on cardiac care
- Functions as a step-down intermediate care unit meeting the acute care patient needs.
- EKG Class, ACLS and residency classes are provided.Â
- Individualized, comprehensive program with a primary preceptor.
- A floating charge nurse for support on every shift 7 days a week
- Full time (72 hours biweekly)
- Shift: 12- hour day/night (6-6)
- Every third weekend
- Eligible for shift and weekend differential
The nursing attendant functions as an integral part of the patient care team by performing selected patient care treatments and tasks as delegated by licensed nurse. Â Is accountable for own action in performing duties as assigned and for which he/she is trained. Â Included is recognition and understanding of the physical, cognitive and psychosocial changes unique to the age/population group served on the unit.
