Description

Lead Plumbing Installer

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM (occasional evenings/weekends as job demands)
Compensation: $25–$45/hour, commensurate with experience

Why Edelman?
Are you the plumber other installers come to when a job gets complicated? At Edelman, we're not just running plumbing calls — we're building a team of craftsmen who own their work start to finish. We're looking for a Master Plumber to lead our most complex residential installations, mentor the next generation of installers, and run a job site the way it should be run: on budget, on code, and done right. If you're ready to run the show instead of just working the job, this is your seat.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the Installation: Take full ownership of complex residential plumbing installs — kitchen and bath remodels, fixture and system installs, start to finish.
  • Lead the Crew: Supervise and train assistants and junior installers on the jobsite, keeping the project on budget and on schedule.
  • Solve It on the Spot: When something doesn't go to plan, you bring your Plumbing Manager a solution, not just a problem.
  • Build to Code: Properly install and connect all waste, vent, gas, and water piping per Illinois Plumbing Code — no shortcuts.
  • Deliver the Experience: Communicate clearly with homeowners, protect their home during the job, leave the site cleaner than you found it, and earn the kind of reviews that keep customers calling us back.
  • Run the Business Side: Handle checklists, paperwork, material orders, and inventory accurately — this is your job to manage, not just your tools.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of residential plumbing install experience.
  • Licensing: Valid Illinois Plumbing License (Illinois Licensed Plumber credential per IDPH) required.
  • Screening: Must pass a background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
  • Reliability: Valid driver's license, insurable through our company carrier.
  • Tools: Must supply your own tools to perform Install Level 5 work.
  • Physical Demands: Comfortable lifting up to 300 lbs, working in tight spaces like attics and crawl spaces, and working in the field through heat, cold, and everything in between.
  • Mindset: A leader who can run a job unsupervised, train others, and represent Edelman as the professional in the home.
  • Bonus Points: Commercial plumbing experience, blueprint/civil print reading, and experience running crews.

What Edelman Offers:

  • Compensation: $25–$45/hour, commensurate with experience, with room to grow your rate as you take on more responsibility — running jobs unsupervised, exceeding labor budgets, and leading commercial projects.
  • Health & Wellness: Medical, dental (Blue Cross Blue Shield), and vision (VSP) — company-subsidized.
  • Protected: $25,000 employer-paid life insurance, plus optional disability and accident coverage.
  • Time Off & Retirement: Paid vacation, 8 paid holidays, and a 401(k) with company match up to 4%.
  • Loyalty Program: Bonuses for sticking around.

Ready to Run the Job?
If you're ready to lead installs instead of just working them, we want to talk. Apply today and start building a career you can be proud of.
