The Education Justice Project, a unit of the College of Education at UIUC, has a suite of offices in the Campus YMCA building at 1001 S. Wright Street, Champaign. Our office assistants are responsible for working in the EJP offices to assist with inquiries, support EJP staff members with administrative tasks such as copying and mailings, and process mail and package deliveries. They are also responsible for greeting and assisting guests, keeping the offices tidy and orderly, ensuring materials are properly filed and supplies are replenished, and facilitating EJP event preparations and logistics.


The position starts ASAP; end date is indeterminate. Please do not apply if you are not available until the start of the semester, as we need someone to start ASAP.

Required Qualifications

  • Office experience
  • Reliable, punctual
  • Extremely well organized
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Google docs
  • Ability to operate office equipment such as computer, phones, and copy/scan/printer machines
  • Critical understanding of the social and historical contexts of EJP’s work
  • Commitment to social justice
  • Ability to physically lift, bend, and twist to aid in office organization
