The hourly range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.

What Inventory Mgmt. contributes to Cardinal Health

Inventory Management is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning and customer forecasting systems, supply planning, product deployment and expediting processes, and the development and implementation of a stocking optimization model to minimize costs and inventory while delivering on service requirements.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years previous experience in quality control or inventory management preferred
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • Execute quality checks and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy, proper labeling, and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors.
  • Comfortable working at heights ranging from 20–30 feet while following all safety protocols.
  • Prior experience operating powered industrial trucks (PIT) or other material handling equipment preferred.
  • Familiarity with RF scanners and/or voice-directed picking systems highly preferred.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, including on short notice, to meet operational demands.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and analyze daily operational reports, identifying and correcting discrepancies to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory count variances to maintain accurate records and drive continuous process improvement.
  • Coordinate and execute inventory relocations to optimize warehouse space utilization and support efficient operations.
  • Oversee and process product returns both physically and within the CRM system, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Review and respond to product recall notices, implementing appropriate corrective actions to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Manage and document damaged and lost inventory, ensuring proper resolution and adherence to company protocols.
  • Analyze and address picking discrepancies, including shortages and overages, to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
  • Resolve and track service-related issues within the CRM system, documenting outcomes in the Corporate Tracker for visibility and follow-up.
  • Prepare and validate all required documentation for vendor returns, including goods and ENM, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with ASO teams and customers to coordinate deliveries and support daily operational and administrative functions.
  • Communicate proactively with customers, suppliers, customer service teams, operations staff, and inventory teams to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Respond to and manage incoming calls in a timely and professional manner, addressing questions and resolving issues effectively.
  • Monitor and prioritize urgent tasks within the “rush” queue to ensure expedited handling and service fulfillment.
