Job Description

Anoka Technical College is seeking two experienced unlimited full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) faculty members. One position will be responsible for the development, implementation, management, and evaluation of clinical fieldwork education, and the other position will have regular faculty responsibilities. Both positions instruct students in a range of subjects and courses across the assigned OTA curriculum. Part of the faculty role is to assess student competencies as described in the curriculum to support student success and demonstrate a commitment to working in a diverse, multicultural, and multi-racial community. Additional duties to include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver occupational therapy instruction in day and alternate schedule formats across multiple levels and learning styles.

  • Maintain consistent communication with students through office hours, email, and telephone.

  • Participate in departmental maintenance, program and curricular meetings, accreditation, and information sessions.

  • Develop curriculum/lesson plans to maintain relevancy with the status of the field and accrediting body.

  • Support the mission, vision, and core values of Anoka Technical College.

  • Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice through inclusive educational practices.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean, Vice President or President

Salary Range:

Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted and currently range from $48,365 - $96,906. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, retirement savings plans, tuition waiver for employees and dependents, professional development funds, along with many optional benefit programs.

**Please note, Initial Step placement is established by the MSCF contract in which sets salary limitations to what a new Faculty member is able to begin at. This will differ from the maximum salary range in this posting. For more information, please visit the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirement

Bachelor degree, and a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program or a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.

Occupational Experience Requirement

Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as an occupational therapist or an occupational therapy assistant.

Recency Requirement

One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Professional Requirement

Minnesota Board of Occupational Therapy Practice licensure as an occupational therapist or an occupational therapy assistant.

Preferred Qualification 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum design and instructional design, online teaching platforms

  • Recent teaching or training experience

  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

  • Clinical experience with Children and Youth Practice

  • Clinical experience with Mental Health and Wellness Practice

  • Professional experience as a fieldwork educator

  • Member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and/or Minnesota Occupational Therapy Association (MOTA)
