Position Overview: The Buyer is expected to monitor inventory levels and purchase materials needed for finished goods production for assigned site(s), as well as all MRO, office, and one-off supplies needed for the facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Monitor the MRP and order materials used in finished goods production for the plant. Monitor MRO and office supply levels, ensuring that Production and the office have sufficient items. Liaise and interact with vendors as required. Order one-off items as required. Prepare forecasts to assist with predicting requirements. Coordinate with production and scheduling teams to ensure materials are available on-site for short-term schedules and last-minute schedule changes. Assist the Accounts Payable team with workflow and invoicing issues related to purchase orders. Maintain accurate data in the relevant software systems. Coordinate with the support center team to commercialize new SKUs as needed. Perform administrative tasks as required. Perform other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have the following:Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Some experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred. Must be 18 years or older. Competencies and Skills: Good analytical and math skills. Understanding of minimum and maximum required order quantities. Proficiency in using a variety of computer software. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact and engage well with other individuals and departments. Good time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Innovative critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational and planning abilities. Ability to be flexible as circumstances change. Self-starter with a driven mindset. Organizational and planning skills to monitor and purchase required inventory. Physical Demands: Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer. Ability to move about the facility on a regular basis to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited, lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking.
