Essential Functions:Â
- Develop, conduct, and direct engineering testing and DOEs to solve real world technical problems
- Hands on support of active testing, development, and failure analysis work in our labs using various lab equipment
- Rapid learner with solid technical foundation in materials, chemistry, and/or thermodynamicsÂ
- Solid written, and verbal communication skills
- Perform Mechanical engineering, EEE drawing reviews, and write specifications
- Represent the organization as a contact on projects
- Create analysis reports documenting inspection findings
Basic Qualifications: Â
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 0 years of related engineering experience.Â
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:Â Â
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Material Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry
- Active Secret Security Clearance, or higher at the time of application
- Experience in Design, Development, Testing, Processing and/or Manufacturing of aerospace flight vehicles, their parts, and/or materials
- Familiar with aerospace metals, polymer composites, adhesives, CMCs, EEE, and/or thermal protection systems
- Experience with materials and chemical lab equipment such as SEM/EDS, CT, FTIR, DMA, TGA, DSC, Load/Tension Mechanical testing, Hardness testing
- Familiar with material characterization, qualification, and generation/use of design allowables
- Familiar with material and process related drawings, industrial material specifications (ASTM/AMS/AWS), and materials processing & manufacturing
