The Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS) is seeking a Board Certified Infectious Disease Physician to support the mission of the Indian Health Service (IHS) at the Gallup Indian Medical Center in Gallup, New Mexico. This role involves providing comprehensive, culturally acceptable infectious disease care to adult American Indian and Alaska Native patients within the Internal Medicine Clinic and inpatient wards.

Location: Gallup Indian Medical Center, Gallup, NM
Shifts: 8a - 5p, Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities

- Clinical Care: Deliver outpatient care in the Internal Medicine Clinic, seeing new patients in 30-40-minute visits and follow-up patients in 20-minute visits.
- Specialized Expertise: Manage complex cases including HIV, tuberculosis, sexually transmitted infections, bone/soft tissue/joint infections, and other endemic infections.
- Inpatient Consultation: Provide infectious disease consultations for admitted patients in the inpatient wards.
- Workload: Manage an average volume of 12-16 ambulatory patient visits per day.
- Interdisciplinary Support: Coordinate with a support team of nurses, medical secretaries, and case managers, and collaborate with 5-7 other providers daily.

Required Qualifications

- Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 36 months of physician experience, including at least 12 months in the required specialty.
- Completion of a fellowship in infectious disease at an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current, valid, and unrestricted physician license from any U.S. State, District of Columbia, or Territory.
- Certification: Board Certification in Infectious Disease. Current BLS.
- Compliance: Ability to pass Level I and Level II background checks and security investigations. Must be US Citizen.
