Job Description:
Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Sr. Manager, Marketing Automation and Email Strategy to lead the development, execution, optimization and reporting of global email marketing programs. This individual will manage a team of email marketing specialists and collaborate closely with digital marketing, content, web, analytics, sales and product marketing teams to drive customer engagement, lead generation, pipeline contribution and customer retention.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop a team of email marketing professionals
- Establish best practices, processes and quality standards for campaign execution
- Prioritize team workload and align resources with business objectives
- Foster a culture of testing, learning and continuous improvement
Email Marketing Strategy
- Develop and execute the overall email marketing strategy across customer acquisition, onboarding, nurture, retention and re-engagement programs
- Create audience segmentation strategies to improve targeting and personalization
- Partner with marketing stakeholders to support product launches, promotional initiatives, webinars, events and account-based marketing campaigns
- Build lifecycle marketing programs that improve engagement and accelerate pipeline growth
Marketing Automation and Campaign Execution
- Manage and optimize marketing automation programs using Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement or similar platforms
- Design and implement automated customer journeys, lead nurturing programs, triggered communications and behavioral campaigns
Analytics and Optimization
- Monitor, analyze and report on campaign performance
- Lead testing and optimization efforts to improve engagement and business outcomes
Compliance and Governance
- Ensure compliance with email marketing regulations and governance standards
- Maintain deliverability, list health and audience management best practices
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and execute integrated marketing programs
- Align email strategies with business priorities and customer engagement goals
Requirements/Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field with at least 15 years of relevant experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in email marketing and marketing automation
- 2+ years of people management experience
- Experience building and managing multichannel nurture programs
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (preferred), Marketo, HubSpot, Eloqua or similar marketing automation platforms
- Strong understanding of segmentation, deliverability, lifecycle marketing and customer journey orchestration
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate insights
- Experience with A/B testing and optimization strategies
- Excellent communication, project management and stakeholder management skills
