Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Chandler MN - Chandler, MN 56122Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: GED or EquivalentSalary Range: $18.60 - $36.17 HourlyTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: 3rd ShiftThe Waste Water Treatment Technician oversees, operates and maintains a complex industrial wastewater pretreatment system that contains a variety of wastewater treatment processes and auxiliary equipment for the processing and handling of industrial wastewater and generated industrial byproducts.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operate and monitor all wastewater pretreatment plant equipment and make necessary adjustments based on findings. Take periodic samples and perform and record the results of various laboratory tests to assess and monitor the condition of the system and determine optimal chemical and biological treatment. Maintain the efficiency of plant and laboratory operations, including maintenance of equipment pumps, filters, and machinery, testing, quality control and record keeping procedures. Read and record meter and gauge readings. Maintain plant records, including operations logs, daily diaries, computer data entry and chemical inventories. In accordance with the Wastewater Discharge Permit, collect and submit all required effluent sampled to a certified laboratory. Ensure timely reporting to local authorities and facility management if an upset or exceedance occurs. Performs ground maintenance and housekeeping duties as needed. Process quality control requirements and remedial measures in dealing with process malfunctions and emergencies. QualificationsEducation and Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Two to five years working with municipal and/or industrial wastewater (preferred). Valid Wastewater Certification is a plus Valid Motor Vehicle Operators License Occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work Competencies and Skills: Operate and maintain pumps, motors and equipment. Read meters and gauges and other recording instruments. Maintain operating records. Use Microsoft Excel (including data entry, basic math formulas and formatting). Make mathematical computations. Read and comprehend written materials. Learn technical and specialized processes pertinent to wastewater treatment plant work, including required laboratory analysis Use common hand tools. Work independently and understand and follow oral and written instructions. Work with others. Chemical safety practices. Practices and procedures used in the operation and maintenance of wastewater pretreatment systems. Sampling methods and the physical and chemical tests used in treatment plant control. Hazards and safety practices involved in working around high voltage equipment and moving machinery. Physical Demands: Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Regularly climb stairs and ladders. Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment: Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts. Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. Occasional exposure to high places, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and temperature extremes. Moderate noise levels typical of industrial environments. PPE will be provided and must be worn when exposed to hazardous conditions including chemicals, airborne particles, and mechanical risks. Compliance with all safety protocols and PPE usage is mandatory to ensure personal and team safety. MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER NOTE: This role will require extended hours based on production needs, including work to be performed after regular business hours and on weekends.
