Job Summary
The Compounder I role supports the preparation of personal care product batches by assisting with mixing, weighing, and transferring raw materials. This position plays an important role in ensuring products are manufactured safely, accurately, and in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with mixing and blending ingredients by following clear, step-by-step instructions.
- Weigh raw materials using scales and record basic measurements.
- Help move drums and materials using provided equipment and tools.
- Â Follow safety, GMP, and basic documentation requirements when completing tasks.
- Support R&D or senior compounders with tasks during scale-up or testing.
- Maintain accurate and neat logs related to materials, batches, and processes.
- Collect basic samples for testing as directed.
- Transfer finished batches to the filling/production line under supervision.
- Pre-weigh materials needed for upcoming batches.
- Clean and sanitize kettles, tools, and equipment after use.
- Help maintain chemical and raw material inventory in the system (training provided).
- Â Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Wear assigned personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Operate a sit-down forklift if trained (training can be provided).
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior manufacturing, warehouse, or related experience preferred but not required.
- Experience with mixing, chemical handling, or compounding preferred but not required.
Skills and ProficienciesÂ
- Ability to read, write, and follow simple written and verbal instructions in English.
- Basic math skills (counting, adding, subtracting, using a calculator).
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Comfortable using basic computer systems and reading scales (training provided).
- Physically able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds during an 8-hour shift.
- Willing to train for forklift certification.
- Able to prioritize tasks and work with a sense of urgency when needed.
- Flexible to work occasional overtime, including some weekends.
