BMG Electrician L3 / Channelview, TX  

 

LOCATION: Channelview - Texas  - USA 

DEPARTMENT: MAINTENANCE - MECHANIC / ELECTRIC 

 

Purpose

Performs electric and electronic advanced maintenance inspections, diagnosis and corrective actions, performing systematic analysis of problems and improvement opportunities, in a safe and efficient manner according  to applicable procedures and best practices, complying with defined quality standards.

 

Responsibilities

  • Commit with health, safety and environmental policies and notify situations that present potential risk.
  • Ensure product quality complying with defined standards and reporting deviations. 
  • Carry out duties in an efficient manner meeting productivity and efficiency standards in accordance with minimum costs.
  • Perform activities according to applicable procedures. 
  • Complete and update all applicable records ensuring information accuracy and product traceability. 
  • Ensure proper use of the company assets, detecting and reporting malfunctioning.
  • Attend and collaborate in training activities in ordered to maintain and increase the company knowledge. 
  • Proactively suggest improvements and participate in continuous improvement activities. 
  • Maintain a clean and ordered workplace. 
  • Perform activities understanding their consequences on the global process. 
  • Abide by Tenaris discipline norms.

 

Main Activities 

  • Diagnose and repair issues with motor controls, including contactors, starters, overloads, relays, and associated wiring.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), including parameter adjustments, fault code interpretation, wiring checks, and drive replacements
  • Troubleshoot faults in PLC controlled machinery by checking field devices, wiring and voltages to trace input to output paths.
  • Bend, install, and run various types of conduit (EMT, rigid, PVC, flexible) using hand and power benders to precise measurements and codes.
  • Pull wire, terminate connections, and install electrical components, panels, junction boxes, and fixtures in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and National
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections, testing, and documentation on electrical equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Use multimeters, megohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to test continuity, voltage, current, insulation resistance, and component functionality.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, one-line diagrams, and equipment manuals to support troubleshooting and installations.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams, engineers, and production personnel to resolve equipment issues quickly and safely.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and maintenance activities.
