SAIC is seeking a Mission Integration Engineer in Chantilly, VA to provide systems engineering and technical advisory (SETA) services to our Government customer in a dynamic System Program Office (SPO) at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). You will be critical in supporting the development and execution of a process to systematically and regularly capture and analyze data to quantify warfighter use of major satellite systems. You will identify potential reasons why warfighters might not be leveraging the systems and will help execute exercises, demonstrations and other ways to further improve warfighter integration of the systems. The job requires familiarity with the NRO organization, major acquisition processes, and satellite systems. Additionally, you will assist the Government customer in developing multi-media training materials to inform users of the satellite information the best ways to task the satellite and exploit the data.  

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Support the development and execution of processes to monitor and improve warfighter integration of major satellite programs.
  • Gather and analyze user data to understand how users task and employ current satellite systems; develop metrics to characterize user experience and generate measures of effectiveness for demonstrating improvements in satellite usage.
  • Author briefings for presentation in scientific forums and in user communities to explain how to advance new uses for the satellite data and apply them to user needs.
  • Provide expert advice to the Program Director, Program Managers and Contracting Staff regarding mission integration strategies and execution.
  • Develop documents and briefings to communicate status, recommendations, and approach.
  • Support the Contract Officer Technical Representatives (COTRs) and Developers by coordinating with other mission integration domain SMEs and program stakeholders to develop, modify, and maintain applicable plans and processes.


Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline with 14+ years related experience, or Master’s degree in Business, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline 10+ years related experience; Master's degree and 9 years or more experience; PhD or JD and 7 years or more experience.
  • Experience with radar phenomenology and radar imagery applications.
  • Familiarity with defense and intelligence acquisition, budget planning and contracting.
  • TS/SCI with polygraph.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, programmatic, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong briefing development, presentation and writing skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to be effective in a fast-paced, dynamic, and energetic environment.
  • Travel one week per month on average.
