SAIC is seeking a top-notch Occupational Health and Safety Manager to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This position requires an active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph or the ability to obtain.

SAIC provides full-service facility management support to a large Federal Agency customer in the Intelligence Community.  We conduct end-to-end project management functions, including Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH), for a variety of projects and locations around the world.  This position will report to and sit at the HQ-level and will serve as the Enterprise Safety Manager. 

Some of the responsibilities include: 

  • Evaluate compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws as well as Department of Defense (DoD) regulations.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and other policy guidance for Agency-wide distribution.
  • Develop and conduct training for broad audiences.
  • Collect relevant data and metrics and prepare it for presentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with trends and patterns and ensure that information is shared with the Enterprise.
  • Review planning, design, and construction documentation for compliance.
  • Conduct inspections of new construction and existing facilities for code or other safety violations and document them.
  • Participate in regular, comprehensive ESH audits of different USG locations and operations.
  • Administer and provide oversight to geographically dispersed local Occupational Health and Safety programs.
  • Provide strategic guidance to executives regarding the Occupational Safety and Health program.
  • Communicate the importance of preventative activities.
  • Serve as the reporting authority for injuries and illnesses.
  • Develop and manage project plans for the implementation and improvement of the Occupational Safety and Health Program.
  • Represent the customer and internal and external meetings regarding the Occupational Safety and Health Program.


  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.Based on Federal Law, you must be a US citizen to be able to obtain and maintain a clearance with no recent or continued drug use and no significant financial marks on credit report.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Safety Engineering, Safety Management, or a closely related field.
  • Certification in safety and/or risk management such as Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist.
  • 6 years of experience working on or managing a government, military, or corporate safety program.
  • Ability to advise senior officials within and outside the enterprise concerning occupational safety and health and serve on external working groups.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and ability to work with Occupational Health and Safety software tools.
  • Strong writing skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph. 
  • 6 years of experience working on or managing a government, military, or corporate safety program.
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) Occupational Safety and Health Instructions and Directives.
