About the Role
Redhorse transforms the way government uses data and technology. To support this mission, we are seeking a Senior Mobile Applications Developer & Systems Engineer to support a critical Sponsor program. This role is vital to the development and execution of strategy for complex technical solutions that are widely relied upon across the enterprise. You will bridge the gap between operational needs and technical execution, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in mobile and geospatial technologies. Your work will directly impact how the Sponsor manages, integrates, and utilizes mission-critical data in fast-paced, real-world environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly assist the Sponsor Program Manager with operational support and the development of complex technical strategies.
  • Translate high-level operational needs into detailed technical requirements for engineering teams.
  • Design and develop mobile applications for the Android platform, ensuring high performance and security.
  • Support the development and maintenance of iOS applications to ensure cross-platform mission capabilities.
  • Integrate geospatial mission data into common enterprise web applications using Amazon EC2, S3, and related AWS services.
  • Provide technical advice and direction on mobile hardware, operating systems (Android/iOS), and software (Commercial, FOSS, and GOTS).
  • Manage program progress by tracking risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure timely delivery.
  • Facilitate technical meetings with vendors to communicate mission requirements and evaluate technical solutions.
  • Perform system and database administration, including file and access management functions within cloud environments.


Required Experience/Clearance
  • An active TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph is required for this Sponsor environment.
  • 8+ years of experience in applications development or systems engineering.
  • Demonstrated mastery of mobile application development specifically for the Android platform.
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), specifically EC2 and S3, for data integration and system administration.
  • Proven experience in a Systems Engineering role, including requirements gathering and risk management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment with minimal spin-up time.


Desired Experience
  • Proficiency in iOS application development.
  • Deep expertise in geospatial technologies and the integration of geospatial data into mobile platforms.
  • Practical knowledge of mobile security mechanisms and encryption standards.
  • Experience managing technical relationships with third-party vendors.
  • Familiarity with Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) and Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) solutions.
  • Experience briefing senior government customers on technical strategies and program status.
