SAIC is seeking a Software Solutions Architect to support SAIC’s Prime Program, Landmark AOS in Chantilly, VA. Landmark AOS is a large SETA program, supporting the NRO’s Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED), responsible for the acquisition of systems over the complete end-to-end life cycle. The role requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

As the Software Solutions Architect SETA you will be involved in designing, developing, and overseeing comprehensive software solutions that align with our business objectives. You will also need to possess extensive experience in software architecture, and have a solid understanding of emerging technologies, and demonstrate strong leadership skills to be successful.

Key Responsibilities to include:

  • Design and implement scalable, robust, and secure software architecture solutions. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. 
  • Lead architectural reviews and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes. 
  • Oversee the development process ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices. 
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to all portfolio teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Conduct risk assessment and mitigation strategies for software solutions. 
  • Stay updated with the latest technological trends and incorporate relevant advancements into architectural solutions. 
  • Prepare documentation and deliver presentations on architectural decisions and project updates. 
  • Facilitate the alignment of Government IT Portfolio strategy with business goals and objectives in support of meeting critical milestones and future vision objectives for the organization.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience. Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree. 
  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Poly.
  • Experience as a software architect or in a similar senior role. 
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing software architecture for large-scale projects. 
  • Proficiency in multiple software development methodologies. 
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing, microservices architecture, and enterprise application integration. 
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with specific technologies and frameworks relevant to our tech stack [e.g., AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.]. 
  • Experience supporting the IC.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to design innovative and effective solutions. 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and cross-functional team environment. 
  • Ability to lead and mentor development teams effectively. 
  • Strong oral and written communications ability on significant technical matters often requiring coordination within a high-tempo environment.
