Description

The Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) is responsible for independently sourcing loan application business from multiple referral channels such as realtors, builders, and other financial professionals. The MLO conducts an interview with the applicant, determines the mortgage financing needs, makes appropriate product and program recommendations and assists with the completion of the loan application package.

  • This bank position requires registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry NMLS as created under the federal S.A.F.E. Act and no licensing.
  • Sells loan products and meets loan production targets
  • Performs business development tasks, including managing the pipeline by generating leads and referral business, and maintaining relationship with existing and past clients.
  • Meet and communicate with applicants to explain the risks and benefits, as well as the terms of loan products and government regulations.
  • Obtain relevant information and evaluate applicants’ financial status, including credit history, dept-to-income ratio, and appraisal reports, to determine recommendations for loan approval.
  • Represents mortgage division at community events and networking events.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all applicable lending regulations, the economy, market rates, vendors, and competitors.
  • Compliant with all Fair Lending requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of mortgage lending experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong customer service orientation
  • Established loan referral sources.
