Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Thermoid team.  The Maintenance Electrical/Mechanical Technician will perform general maintenance throughout the plant, without supervision, as required to maintain uninterrupted production or as assigned by the Maintenance Manager at our Chanute Kansas facility.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Installation, trouble-shooting and modification of production equipment.
• Read and understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
• Read and understand ladder diagrams.
• Install electrical conduit, wiring and motor starters.
• Perform metal work, including welding.
• Ability to install and maintain single and 3-phase electrical equipment up to 480V AC & DC
• Must be qualified and able to operate company vehicles and possess a valid driver’s license.

Experience and Education Required

• High School Diploma / GED required
• Electrical experience required
• Mechanical / Electrical trade school or background in electrical/mechanical required. 
• Possess a good working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and its application.
• Two or more years of maintenance and electrical experience.

Physical Abilities

• Physically able in strength, agility and durability to perform job duties to avert normal job hazards or physical injury. 
• Ability to occasionally perform elevated work or work in close spaces.
