Business and Technical Analyst - Enterprise Architecture Support

Role Overview
 The Business and Technical Analyst supports the Senior Enterprise Architect in developing and maintaining Enterprise Architecture (EA) work products, ensuring alignment with Federal guidelines, OMB reporting requirements, and industry best practices. This role bridges business strategy and technical architecture, helping the organization mature its EA governance and integrate architecture into broader IT planning processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development of Enterprise Architecture work products, ensuring the integrity of the architecture development process in accordance with Federal guidelines and industry best practices
  • Analyze enterprise business drivers and the current IT environment to determine business information and technical architecture requirements
  • Detect critical deficiencies in the current architecture or processes and recommend solutions for improvement
  • Support the definition and design of governance activities associated with ensuring compliance with the Enterprise Architecture, under the guidance of the Senior Enterprise Architect
  • Assist in meeting all OMB reporting requirements and integrate the enterprise architecture within the organization's capital planning, systems lifecycle, and portfolio management processes

Qualifications (Required)

  • 5+ years of experience in an IT field
  • 3+ years of IT experience (an Enterprise Architecture certification may substitute for one year of this experience)
  • 1+ years of experience with project or program management in support of an organization's information technology program
  • Working knowledge of Federal EA frameworks and guidance (e.g., Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF), OMB Circular A-130) and capital planning/portfolio management processes (e.g., CPIC)
  • Strong analytical and written communication skills; ability to translate business requirements into architecture artifacts and vice versa

Nice to Have

  • Enterprise Architecture certification (e.g., TOGAF, FEAC)
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project/program management certification
  • Experience supporting a Federal agency's EA governance program
  • Familiarity with EA tools (e.g., Sparx EA, MEGA, ArchiMate-based modeling)

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
