Project Engineer / Construction Administrator
Location: Reston, VA (Onsite)

They are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Engineer / Construction Administrator to join their corporate operations team in Reston, Virginia. This is an office-based position that plays a critical role in supporting their Corporate Quality Control Manager and Project Management team.
The ideal candidate enjoys coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, and has strong scheduling and document management skills. This individual will assist with quality control administration, project scheduling, subcontractor documentation, and overall project coordination to help ensure successful execution of federal healthcare construction projects across the country.
Quality Control Support
- Assist the Corporate Quality Control Manager with implementation and administration of the company's Quality Control Program.
- Review, organize, and maintain project quality documentation.
- Track quality control deliverables, inspections, testing reports, and project documentation.
- Assist with preparation and review of project-specific Quality Control Plans.
- Monitor project documentation for compliance with contract requirements.
- Support document management related to submittals, RFIs, inspections, testing reports, and closeout documentation.
- Help maintain standardized quality procedures and company templates.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure required quality documentation is submitted accurately and on schedule.
Scheduling & Project Controls
- Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Work with project managers and superintendents to collect schedule updates and progress information.
- Analyze schedule changes and identify potential impacts to project milestones.
- Prepare schedule reports for internal management and client meetings.
- Support schedule recovery planning and coordination activities.
- Maintain schedule documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support Project Managers with daily administrative and project coordination activities.
- Organize and maintain electronic project files and document control systems.
- Coordinate subcontractor documentation and contract compliance.
- Assist with meeting preparation, agendas, meeting minutes, and action item tracking.
- Track project deliverables and ensure deadlines are met.
- Coordinate communication between field teams, corporate staff, subcontractors, designers, and clients.
- Assist with project startup and project closeout documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent construction industry experience.
- 2–5 years of experience supporting commercial, healthcare, federal, or institutional construction projects.
- Experience working with construction documentation and project coordination.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
- Experience using Primavera P6.
- Experience with Microsoft Project scheduling software.
- Experience supporting federal construction projects.
- Familiarity with USACE Quality Control processes.
- Knowledge of construction scheduling principles and critical path methodology.
- Experience with document management systems such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with submittals, RFIs, change orders, and construction closeout documentation.
- Understanding of healthcare construction, infection control practices, or renovation projects in occupied facilities.
