Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will support the manufacturing operations of high-voltage electrical equipment, including circuit breakers and instrument transformers, at the Charleroi manufacturing facility. This entry-level role is ideal for recent engineering graduates or early-career professionals interested in operational excellence, process improvement, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

As demand for grid modernization and AI-driven infrastructure continues to accelerate globally, GE Vernova is expanding production capacity and investing heavily in manufacturing transformation. The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in improving productivity, reducing waste, supporting process standardization, and implementing Lean manufacturing initiatives to help meet this growth.

This position offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to Lean principles, process engineering, data analytics, AI-enabled manufacturing tools, and cross-functional collaboration.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support daily manufacturing operations to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity (SQCDP).
  • Assist in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes and standard work, by developing new fixtures and solutions that help with cycle time reduction and improvement of output.
  • Participate in Kaizen events, Lean initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Support expansion projects with development of new layouts
  • Support line balancing, cycle time analysis, and labor efficiency improvements.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of routings, work instructions, PFMEAs, and process documentation.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to resolve operational issues.
  • Support implementation of visual management and problem-solving
  • Participate in process validation activities, NPIs, tooling improvements, and fixture development.
  • Support manufacturing digitalization initiatives, including MES systems, AI-enabled analytics, and automation projects.
  • Assist with ergonomics, safety improvements, and workstation optimization.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and shop floor Gemba walks.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field with at least one year of Manufacturing Experience.
  • Knowledge of CAD software or manufacturing tooling concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing/shop floor environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or Industrial Engineering concepts.
  • Familiarity with SAP, MES systems, Power BI, or manufacturing analytics tools.
  • Interest in AI applications in manufacturing, automation, or Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Experience with time studies, line balancing, or process mapping.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $76,300.00 and $114,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
