What You'll Do

As an Armed Security Officer, you will:

Patrol museum buildings and grounds to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems.
Conduct routine security inspections of doors, windows, gates, and restricted areas.
Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents with professionalism and sound judgment.
Contact law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical personnel when appropriate.
Investigate suspicious activity and complete detailed incident reports.
Assist with crowd management during museum events and public programs.
Escort unauthorized individuals from the property when necessary.
Detain individuals suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives, when appropriate.
Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining a visible security presence.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit (required at time of interview)
Successful SLED background investigation
Previous verified security experience
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
CPR and First Aid Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days

Full time position (40 hours), Noon to 8 p.m. Days will vary. Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
