The Ideal Candidate will be located in Beckley or surrounding areas, due to geography associated with position territory.

The position is an outward facing position within the communities of West Virginia.    This position will identify, coordinate, and participate with local advocacy groups and other community based organization throughout the State to help promote preventive health care activities and to educate on Medicaid and WVCHIP.  In addition, this position will be responsible for the planning and implementation of education and promotional events with DHHR, community partners and other key stakeholders.

Required:

  1. High school graduate or equivalent.
  2. 3-5 years experience working with vulnerable populations.
  3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
  4. Ability to travel.
  5. Excellent public speaking, presentation and writing skills.
  6. Valid driver's license and mode of transportation.
  7. Works well independently and with others in team environment.
  8. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships.

Desired:

  1. College degree preferred with a concentration in health field or social work.
  2. Track record of working with community partners.
  3. Creative thinking skills to promote innovation.
  4. Understanding of Medicaid and CHIP insurance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for participating in community outreach events such as health fairs, FRN meetings and other community events.
  2. Serves as primary point of contact for designated region of State with community organizations.
  3. Attend meetings and actively participate in community organization events.
  4. Develop and organize events to be hosted by THP.
  5. Identify opportunities to enhance the THP brand.
  6. Reporting on event participation to determine return on investment and continuously evaluate opportunities to improve event participation.

8:00am - 5:00pm, with some evening and weekend events
