Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:The Compliance Coordinator plays an important role in ensuring that the company meets all regulatory requirements, maintains up-to-date business licenses, and adheres to annual certifications across various jurisdictions. This position is responsible forassisting in the tracking, reporting, and coordination of compliance activities.Â

Skills & Competencies:Â
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, legal studies, or a related field is preferredÂ
1-2 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or a similar roleÂ
2+ years in project management or property maintenance, beneficial Â
Strong organizational skills and attention to detailÂ
Excellent written and verbal communication skillsÂ
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management softwareÂ
Ability to adapt to changing regulatory environments and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyÂ
Knowledge of business license requirements and compliance procedures is a plus Â
Knowledge of fair housing and local real estate laws and basic building codes Â
Ability to prove critical thinking and problem-solving concepts Â

Essential Job Functions:Â
Business License Management: Â
Assist in the collection, maintenance, and renewal of business licenses across multiple jurisdictions. Â
Monitor license expiration dates and proactively initiate renewal processesÂ
Research jurisdictions where files have not yet occurred to determine licensing/permitting requirements Â
 Â
Annual Certifications: Â
Support the preparation and submission of annual certifications and reports to relevant authorities, both internal and externalÂ
Maintain records of all annual certification requirements and deadlines Â
 Â
Jurisdictional Compliance: Â
Process development and ongoing compliance with unclaimed property by state Â
Obtain signature, remit payment and mail tax filings for multiple funds in various states  Â
Research and stay informed about regulatory changes and compliance requirements in various jurisdictionsÂ
Ensure timely compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsÂ
 Â
Documentation and Record Keeping: Â
Maintain an organized and up-to-date record of all compliance documents, licenses, and certificationsÂ
Support finance function in tracking all necessary compliance relating to cash movementsÂ
Prepare and provide reports and documentation as needed for audits or reviewsÂ
Ensure timely and accurate completion of quit claim deedsÂ
 Â
Entity Management: Â
Responsible for the creation and dissolution of corporate entitiesÂ
Ensure accurate and up-to-date records for all corporate entitiesÂ
Maintain compliance with all entity related reporting deadlinesÂ
Collaborate with internal teams to streamline entity-related processesÂ
 Â
Collaboration: Â
Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information and documents for compliance activitiesÂ
Work closely with legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment with compliance goalsÂ
 Â
Ad Hoc Tasks: Â
Assist in additional compliance-related tasks as needed, such as data analysis, reporting, and process improvementsÂ
Assist in the preparation of investor notices and other administrative tasks Â
Â
Key Metrics & Responsibilities:Â
Measure the success and effectiveness of third-partyprocessors for business license renewal and payments  Â
Ensure that all compliance-related documentation, reports, and records are accurate and up to date Â
Ensure all monthly entity reporting to Brookfield is done timely and accurately   Â
Â
Physical Requirements:Â
Capable of working extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Â
Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities, including the exchange and receipt of information over the telephone. Â
Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed. Â
Position may involve sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying, and moving objects that can weigh up to 25 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day. Must also be able to climb several flights of stairs if necessary. Â
Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail-oriented, and with good reasoning skills. Â
Must be able to work in small and confined spaces for extended periods of time. Â
Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard. Â

Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances. For safety reasons, employees must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns. Â
Must be able to work effectively and cheerfully in an environment which may be stressful due to adversarial situations resulting from the proper performance of duties. Â
Must be able to work in an office as regularly scheduled.  Â
