We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, faculty and staff, families, and visitors. The Custodian is an important member of our school community and plays a key role in ensuring our classrooms, common areas, restrooms, and campus facilities are clean, well-maintained, and ready for daily use.

Position Details:
Title: Custodian
Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Reports to: Head of School
Schedule: Full-Time; 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm
This role operates on an academic year schedule, with opportunities for additional hours during summer and holiday breaks based on organizational needs.

Qualifications & Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Ability to perform basic math calculations
Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures, and occupational hazards safety rules
Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals
Ability to walk, move, and perform repetitive motions for long periods
Ability to lift heavy objects, and climb ladders
Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Facilities, the Custodian will:

Keep the building and grounds clean and in an orderly condition
Perform routine maintenance across building and grounds
Perform heavy cleaning duties
Sweep, mop, scrub, or vacuum floors
Gather and empty trash
Scrub, sanitize, and supply restrooms
Dust furniture, walls, and equipment
Clean and polish windows, mirrors, and partitions with cleaning agents
Mix cleaning solutions and chemicals in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
Notify the Director of Facilities regarding repairs or additions to building operating systems
