Facility Maintenance Technician - Institutional/Campus

Skillforce is hiring a multi-trade Facility Maintenance Technician for a busy institutional campus in the Columbia, SC area. The work is a mix of light handyman repairs across an active site —replacing lights and ballasts, swapping HVAC filters on PM rotations, patching and finishing drywall, re-keying doors and replacing hardware, and handling the steady fix-it list a working campus generates each day. First shift, Monday through Friday. 

Pay and Schedule

• $25–$30/hr W-2, based on experience

• 1st shift, Monday–Friday

• Weekly pay

Responsibilities

• Replace interior lights, ballasts, and bulbs

• Swap HVAC filters on PM rotations

• Patch, sand, and repair drywall

• Re-key and replace door locks, hinges, and closers

• Handle daily handyman repairs across an active campus

Qualifications

• 3+ years multi-trade facility maintenance, commercial handyman, or building maintenance experience (service techs, apartment maintenance, and institutional FM all welcome)

• Comfortable with basic electrical, basic plumbing, drywall, and door hardware

• Reliable transportation to the Charleston, SC area

• Must pass a pre-employment background check

• Must supply your own standard PPE: steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat

• Authorized to work in the U.S.
