Job Description

The School-Based Therapy Manager operates under the direction of the Senior Manager of School-Based Behavioral Health and is responsible for the direct supervision of school-based therapists. This role ensures equitable and appropriate access to mental health services across all in-network schools. The Manager collaborates with multiple stakeholders—including The Center for Telehealth, the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and other internal and external partners—to optimize the delivery of school-based therapy services.

This position plays a key role in addressing behavioral health disparities across South Carolina, particularly in underserved and resource-limited communities. By coordinating access, overseeing service delivery, and guiding therapist performance, the School-Based Therapy Manager contributes significantly to the overall mission of expanding and enhancing behavioral health services in school settings. Master's degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, or related degree.  Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor Associate Required. Licensed as Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Counselor – Independent Preferred.  Three years post graduate professional social work or counseling experience.   Requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.  Demonstrates the ability to collaborate in a positive, professional manner with medical professionals.  Requires ability to work in a thorough but efficient manner.

Additional Job Description

Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience State licensure and/or professional certification requirement/s dependent on position. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
