When you succeed, you build value for both the organization and yourself. Position Summary: Maintenance Technician I We are seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join our dedicated team. This role is responsible for maintaining the functionality and appearance of guest units, buildings, and common areas throughout the property, while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our guests and staff.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform general maintenance in guest units and common areas. Utilize hand and power tools to complete repairs and maintenance tasks. Troubleshoot and address carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC concerns. Install and repair appliances with minimal supervision. Conduct plumbing maintenance, including work on pipes, drains, faucets, disposals, showers, and tubs. Inspect and perform preventative maintenance to mitigate guest impact and maintain property standards. Identify, report, and resolve safety hazards in guest areas and throughout the property. Prioritize daily assignments, coordinating with the front desk and department team members to ensure timely completion. Maintain cleanliness of the property by collecting debris, addressing spills, and cleaning exterior fixtures.   Additional Responsibilities Assist with grounds maintenance and painting projects. Conduct regular power washing of exterior areas. Prepare and secure the property for adverse weather conditions, such as storms or hurricanes. Support guests with special needs to enhance their stay. Assist with trash collection and disposal as required. QualificationsQualifications and Requirements Education and Credentials: High school diploma or GED required. EPA Certification preferred, or willingness to obtain. Experience: Minimum of two years of prior experience in general maintenance or equivalent technical training. Skills and Competencies: Knowledge of hand and power tools. Ability to repair and troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC issues. Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with guests and team members. Capacity to work independently with attention to detail and sound judgment. Commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly environment. Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license.   Physical Requirements and Work Environment This position involves working both indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions. It requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs (occasionally), and the use of manual tools and equipment. The role also includes occasional climbing, crawling, kneeling, and squatting.
