Job Description

The EEG Clinical Specialist Coordinator reports to the Manager of the Clinical Neurophysiology Services. In collaboration with the Manager, the EEG Clinical Specialist Coordinator is responsible for clinical practice in the EEG Department, equipment and technical oversight of EEG equipment. The EEG Clinical Specialist Coordinator is responsible for supervising EEG Specialists and provides back-up coverage for the EEG Specialist including data management of all EEG’s performed and overall management of EEG servers. This position works with the Neurosurgeons and oversees epilepsy surgery cases which includes programming EEGs for recording of intracranial electrodes; providing intraoperative EEG monitoring; and following these patient’s EEGs to completion. The EEG Clinical Specialist Coordinator exhibits current clinical knowledge and expertise for designated patient populations, and is accountable for continued competence in electroneurodiagnostic practice and clinical outcomes in accordance with current evidenced – based practice guidelines. This position assists in developing quality care initiatives to improve patient outcomes and patient safety. This role recognizes practice opportunities and collaborates with the interprofessional team to help remove barriers and enhance evidenced based practice standards.

Additional Job Description

Associate degree or graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Neurodiagnostic program or the equivalent, bachelor’s degree is preferred and registered as an EEG Technician by ABRET required and must be maintained. Minimum of Five years Neurodiagnostic work experience required with at least three years EEG Technologist experience. Requirement to achieve a CLTM within two years of taking position. Minimum Qualifications: Excellent collaboration and consultation skills required, Excellent communication and teamwork skills required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: · Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, Familiar with quality improvement methodology.Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced certification in a specialized field. BA/BS degree
