Associate Electrical Engineer (Full Time)

Newton Scientific (NSI) is seeking a motivated and hands-on Associate Electrical Engineer to support manufacturing operations through production testing, troubleshooting, process improvement, and engineering projects. This is a full-time, salaried position. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with hardware, solving technical problems, improving manufacturing processes, and collaborating with engineering and production teams. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to build practical experience in electrical engineering within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Support production by assisting with technical issues, specialized testing, resolving manufacturing-related problems, and improving manufacturing yield.
  • Perform functional testing and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies using established test procedures, inspection methods, and engineering documentation.
  • Assist with projects to automate production testing, reduce manual processes, and improve testing consistency and efficiency.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to quality, reliability, and productivity.
  • Assist with product development activities and transitioning new products, tools, and engineering changes into production.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, test documentation, work instructions, and related manufacturing documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and other teams to communicate technical findings, support continuous improvement initiatives, and meet production objectives.

 

Qualifications:

 

●        Required:

o   Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

o   Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics.

o   Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits using standard laboratory test equipment.

o   Ability to analyze technical problems and identify practical solutions.

o   Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

o   Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

●        Preferred:

o   Hands-on experience with electronics through internships, co-ops, research projects, or manufacturing.

o   Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, or similar electronic test equipment.

o   Familiarity with Python, KiCad, SolidWorks, and other engineering software.

o   Experience reading electrical schematics and engineering drawings.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands for testing, troubleshooting, and equipment setup.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 20 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and good visual acuity for working with electronic assemblies and test equipment.
