Job Description

Newton Scientific (NSI), a Division of Rigaku Americas Holding, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electro-Mechanical Testing Technician who will primarily perform testing activities while also supporting assembly operations on small electro-mechanical products. This is a full-time, hourly position. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical aptitude, experience using electronic test equipment, and the ability to follow established procedures while maintaining high quality standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, identifying anomalies, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Testing

  • Execute established test procedures and work instructions to ensure products meet performance and quality requirements

  • Conduct visual inspections and final inspections of assemblies

  • Operate test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, high-voltage test equipment, and other specialized production test equipment.

  • Document test results and maintain accurate production records. Must be detail oriented

  • Identify and communicate product failures, anomalies, and quality concerns

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production schedules, technical questions, and identified issues on a regular basis

Assembly

  • Perform precision electro-mechanical assembly using hand tools and fixtures to assemble electro-mechanical products and subassemblies according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications

  • Perform through-hole and surface mount soldering as needed

Qualifications:

● Required:

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience in electronics manufacturing, electronics testing, or related industries

  • 2+ years of hands-on electronic testing or electro-mechanical assembly

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

● Preferred:

  • Experience with electronic products and test equipment

  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly and soldering

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience reading assembly drawings, work instructions, or manufacturing documentation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods

  • Frequent use of hands for testing, assembly and soldering tasks

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 20 lbs.

  • Manual dexterity and good visual acuity for precision assembly work

Compensation

$27.00 - $31.00 per hour. Starting pay will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity. The final offer may fall anywhere within the posted pay range.
